On Wednesday, 30 November, the World Boxing Council (WBC) held its 57th annual convention at the Grand Oasis, Cancun. Most of the event was devoted to ratings. During the afternoon, the assembly meeting focused on mandatory defence planning.
Champion Gary Russell Jr. (United States) was ordered to make his mandatory defence against No. 1 ranked mandatory challenger N.Tugstsogt of Mongolia/U.S.A.
After becoming champion of the IBO in the 57.2 kg weight category, “King Tug” now aims to prove himself to the world. N.Tugstsogt’s real career started at the age of twenty, when he won the silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics.
