For the first time in its history, Mongolia has qualified for the Olympics in a team sport. The nation’s 3X3 women’s basketball team earned a ticket to the FIBA 3×3 Olympic Qualifier during a livestreamed show in Utsunomiya, Japan on the eve of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final on Friday (1 November).

The top four teams in the FIBA 3×3 Federation Ranking in the women’s category (China, Mongolia, Russia and Romania) earned a trip to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where 3×3 will make their first appearance on 25-29 July.

Mongolian 3×3 Men’s Team will compete for the Olympic qualification in India on March, 2020.
