The Mongolia Economic Forum-2019 has taken place in Ulaanbaatar to discuss the sustainable development of economy at a time when poverty remains a pressing concern. The annual forum aims to build consensus for defining sustainable economic development policies and addressing pressing challenges faced by the key sectors of the Mongolian economy, among policy makers, the business community, academia, and civil society.
Although Mongolia’s economy continues to grow, its unemployment and poverty levels remain unchanged, said president of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) Otgondavaa Amartuvshin at the opening ceremony of the forum.
In its Asian Development Outlook (ADO) 2019, the ADB projects Mongolia’s economic growth at 6.7% in 2019 and 6.3% in 2020, from the 6.9% growth rate recorded in 2018
