A large fire started yesterday (30 October) at the Tavan Tolgoi Fuel Company. According to the National Emergency Management Agency, the fire began at one of the company’s sites, located in the 20th khoroo of Songinokhairkhan District of Ulaanbaatar. NEMA received the fire call at 7.15 p.m. local time. Seven fire fighters with two fire engines brought the fire under control after a struggle lasting 1.40-hours.
According to an unofficial source, a total of three tonnes of coal briquettes have been burnt in the fire.
