Mongolia’s prime minister has announced that October is a special month for supporting export. As a part of this campaign, the first international business forum entitled ‘Export Mongolia-2019’ is taking place on 28-29 October. The two-day event is being organised by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foundation for Developing Small and Medium sized Enterprises, the National Development Agency, the National Brand Association, the Export International Trade Center and other organisations.
Over 350 enterprises and over 1000 delegates from the European Union, the USA, Japan, Turkey, Canada, India and Australia as well as Germany’s GIZ and the Asian Business Association are participating in the forum.
In 2018, Mongolia traded with a total of 156 countries and the trade volume reached USD 12.9 billion; USD 7.0 billion represents imports and USD 5.9 billion were exports. Exports in the food, agriculture, light industry sectors increased by 12.7 percent from 2017 and livestock and meat by 6.8 percent as well as food and end products by 5.5 percent.
