In the 2020 Draft State Budget, the Mongolian cabinet plans to spend MNT 20 billion for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics. The Mongolian National Team consists of 500 athletes in 32 sporting categories. The target which the country’s athletes are aiming for is to win at least 6-7 medals from Tokyo 2020.

Since the nation’s debut in 1964, Mongolian athletes have appeared in all the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, because of partial support to a Soviet boycott.
