The regular autumn session of the Mongolian Parliament opened today (1 October) at the State Palace. There are now only two sessions left until the term of the 7th Mongolian Parliament, formed in 2016 election, ends next year.
During the autumn session, the State Great Khural, as the parliament is known, will focus on upgrading the laws and regulations for fighting corruption and the abuse of power. This comes after a spate of bribery and corruption scandals involving lawmakers, senior politicians and members of the judiciary. It is planned that the Law against Corruption, Criminal Law, the Offence Investigation Law and the Criminal Court Law will be amended.
