Mongolia’s foreign trade turnover reached USD 9.5 billion in the first eight months of 2019, resulting in an increase of exports to USD 5.4 billion and imports to USD 4.1 billion.
Exports increased by USD 715.8 million in the period from January-August, 2019 on the previous year; this can be attributed to the rise of coal exports by USD 294.8 million and gold by USD 199.8 million.
Imports increased by USD 289.2 million in the first eight months of 2019 on the same period of 2018 due to a rise in mineral imports ny USD 57.2 million; diesel fuel by USD 99 million and mechanical equipment by USD 167 million.
