According to statistics, Mongolia’s air transportation revenue reached MNT 319.7 billion – or 4.4 percent – in the first eight months of 2019. However, the total weight of air freight dropped to two million tonnes – a decrease of 1.9 percent, while the number of passengers rose to 771 thousand, which represents a 21.6 percent rise.

Rail transportation revenue increased to MNT 464.4 billion (17.3 percent) and the volume of freight to 18 million of tonnes or 9.2 percent. There are also more passengers: there has been an increase to 1.9 million, which represents a 6.9 percent rise.
