Ulaanbaatar City Mayor S.Amarsaikhan has presented a proposal to the Citizen’s Representative Council to re-name one of the city’s streets after the French capital Paris. The 1235 meters-long street from Peace Avenue along west bank of the Selbe River to Narnii Zam has been chosen to be designed in the French style.
The issue of naming the street was discussed at a meeting between Mayor S.Amarsaikhan and French Ambassador Philip Marylyn in June. The Paris City Administration has applauded the idea.
Next year Mongolia and France will mark its 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
