Mongolian National Broadcaster (MNB) in cooperation with Russia’s Zvezda TV has produced a documentary series about the Khalkhin Gol Battle for the 80th anniversary of the historical event.
The four-part documentary will mirror the real-life events of the bloody series of battles at Khalkhin Gol in Mongolia’s Dornod Province in 1939 and place the conflict in the broader context of the geopolitics of the time.
There is no doubt that the combined Mongolian and Red Army victory over the Empire of Japan was to have repercussions which were to change world history.
The documentary will premiere at the Zaisan Hill Complex in Ulaanbaatar on 2 September at 6.00 p.m. The 1st and 2nd parts will be broadcast live by MNB.
