The Mongolian Cabinet decided on Wednesday (28 August) to make on Tuesday 3 September a public holiday; the day marks the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Battle of Khalkhin Gol. However, the working day of 3 September has been transferred to Saturday 7 September.
Mongolia and Russia have jointly organised many events including an air show, historical exhibitions and cultural performances for marking the anniversary.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Mongolia on 3 September at the invitation of Kh.Battulga, President of Mongolia.
