Mongolian athlete B.Gantogtokh (men’s 63, 5 kg) won gold medal at the East Asian Muaythai Championships after defeating Philippines Ryan Jakiri by knockout (KO) in the first round. Therefore, B.Gantogtokh has become East Asian Best Athlete. The championships were held in Kong Hong on 15-19 August at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.
Mongolian athletes, led by coach O.Altanpurev, were listed in the fourth place with one gold (B.Gantogtokh in men’s 63, 5 kg), one silver (B.Batkhuleg in men’s 51 kg) and six bronzes (G.Tenuun in men’s 48 kg, U.Buyan-Orgil in men’s 54 kg, B.Ganselem in men’s 57 kg, O.Margad-Erdene in men’s 67 kg, S.Mungungerel in women’s 45 kg and B.Khaliun in women’s 48 kg).
