The second bill to amend the Constitution of Mongolia was presented on 6 June to parliament. Earlier today (23 August), the parliamentary committee of Democratic Party held a meeting over changes to the amendment of the Constitution of Mongolia. According to D.Erdenebat, leader of the DP parliamentary committee, eight changes proposed by the party were rejected. These are related to the election system, state taxation, the national economy and local economics.
According to unofficial sources, parliamentary group of Mongolian People’s Party backed the suggestion of increase the number of parliament members to 99. However, the Democratic Party is pushing to increase number of MPs to 108; this was originally proposed by President of Mongolia.
