Drug crime in Mongolia: Seven foreigners convicted

A total of 72 drug-related criminal cases linked to 150 people, including 7 foreigners have been registered across Mongolia so far this year. According to the National Police Agency (NPA), who have provided the data, the seven foreigners in question include:  four citizens from Nigeria and individuals from South Korea, France and India.

Drug related crime is increasing in Mongolia. It can be noted that drug-related crime is not just limited to the capital Ulaanbaatar: 12 cases have been registered in the provinces.

Under Mongolian law, any person who is found guilty of trafficking drugs will be punished by imprisonment of at least two years.
