The 8th Asian Gymnastics Championships kicked off today (19 June) at the Buyant-Ukhaa Sports Complex in Ulaanbaatar. Mongolia is hosting the event for the first time. A total of 139 athletes, 64 coaches and 46 judges from 19 countries are participating in the competition. In addition, a team of 18 from China’s AOSHI, is on-site to broadcast live to over 220 countries. The competition will commence on 22 June.
Previously, Mongolia has hosted over 20 World and continental competitions such as freestyle wrestling, judo, boxing and basketball in Ulaanbaatar.
