Mongolia’s first medalist at Asian Continental Chess Championship

Mongolian chess player T.Munkhzul won a bronze medal as she scored six out of nine matches at the 2019 Asian Continental Chess Championships. It made her Mongolia’s first female chess player who has won a medal from the Asian Continental Championship.

The championships took place in the Chinese city of Xingtai on 7-15 June. More than 100 athletes from over 20 countries competed in the mind championships.

International master of sports and Woman Grandmaster B.Munguntuul, N.Battulga, S.Bilguun, Woman FIDE Master T.Munkhzul and FIDE Master G.Amartuvshin represented Mongolia at the championships.

Grandmaster B.Munguntuul also competed in the women’s matches, coming 9th with 5.5 points.
