In the first five months of 2019, Mongolia’s foreign trade rose 10.2 percent year-on-year, amounting to USD 5.58 billion.
Exports grew 13 percent year-on-year to USD 3.26 billion, while imports rose 6.3 percent to USD 2.32 billion, the National Statistical Office (NSO) said in a statement.
Mining products, including coal, copper concentrates and iron ore accounted for 83.1 percent of the total exports in the period, noting that a significant increase in revenue from these types of products mainly contributed to the overall growth.
During this period, Mongolia traded with 135 economies across the world.
