Mountaineering emerged as a sport in Mongolia in the middle of the last century. In 1951 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the People’s Revolution, for the first time, young athletes raised the national flag on Asralt Khairkhan Mountain, the highest peak of the Khentii Mountain Range, 2800 meters above sea level.
