The Metropolitan Professional Inspection Department has destroyed over three tonnes of black ice cream due to “possible health risks” from the presence of bacteria taken in a random sample. In addition, a further two tonnes of the product, imported to Mongolia earlier this year, have also been recalled.
According to officials, vegetable carbon Black- Е-153 which turns ice cream black is not registered under Mongolian MNS САС 192-2015, general food standards. Under the law, the black ice creams will be banned in Mongolia until it has been registered as being totally safe in accordance with the standards.
