A man has been arrested for driving across Sukhbaatar Square, in the heart of Ulaanbaatar. The incident took place yesterday (28 May), during a demonstration against the increase in fuel prices, when the driver mounted the curb and drove into a crowd of people. The man was promptly detained for dangerous driving in an area strictly off-limits to vehicles. According to B.Baatarkhuu, press secretary at the Ulaanbaatar City Police Department, the man’s act was not terror-related and, fortunately, no one was injured.

The case is being investigated by the Sukhbaatar District Police Department.
