One out of every eight families in Mongolia is a single-parent family, presidential advisor for civil society and human rights G.Uyanga said on Wednesday. She noted that single-parent families are increasing as the divorce continues to increase on a yearly basis.
Unemployment or financial problems have become one of the main reasons for divorce in Mongolia,” G.Uyanga said at a national conference titled “Let’s create a child and family-friendly environment.” According to G.Uyanga, currently, there are around 80,000 single-mother families and over 20,000 single-father families in Mongolia which has a population of 3.2 million.
