The Ukrainian Cabinet has approved an agreement with the government of Mongolia on the mutual abolition of visa requirements. A respective resolution was approved at a government meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
According to the document, citizens of Ukraine and Mongolia may stay in the territory of another country for a period not exceeding 90 days within a 180-day period. The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers authorised its ambassador to Ukraine to Poland Andriy Deshchytsia to sign the agreement.
Relations between Ukraine and Mongolia have deep historical roots. Our two countries have a huge experience in different spheres of bilateral cooperation which date to the times of the former Soviet Union. Many Mongolians, such as former President Ts.Elbegdorj, studied in the Ukraine. Following its independence in 1990, and the collapse of the Soviet bloc the next year, Mongolia established relation with Ukraine in 1992.
