The ‘Adorable Costume-2019’ International Children Fashion Festival is taking place in the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar. Mongolian ethnic groups live as far apart as southern Russia and northern China; each has its distinct characteristics. The fashion festival aims at promoting the cultural heritage of Mongols from across Eurasia and introducing traditional costumes for children. Over 120 Mongolian ethnic children and 15-20 fashion designers from Kalmykia, Tuva, Buryatia, and Inner Mongolia will participate in the festival. The event is being organised for the second year under the auspices of the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar.
Last year, over 250 Mongolian children who need special care received humanitarian aid as a part of the festival. This year, the organisers are planning to refurbish a children’s playground outside a kindergarten in Gurvansaikhan Soum in Dundgobi Province.
