Another mass food poisoning has hit a US fast food chain in Ulaanbaatar – and again in Zaisan, a well-off suburb in the south of the capital. Over 120 people, 50 percent of whom were children, fell ill earlier this month after eating fast food in same Burger King Outlet. The victims suffered from vomiting, stomach pains and diarrhoea. The National Centre for Communicable Disease (NCCD) examined over 120 patients and 10 employees from Burger King. The diagnosis of the NCCD is that they have E. coli; the most common way to acquire this form of infection is by eating contaminated food.
Three months ago, over 240 people became ill after eating consuming chicken products from same Kentucky Fried Chicken, also in Zaisan. On that occasion, the victims were diagnosed as having dysentery.
