Olympic medalist boxer to run in UB Marathon

The annual ‘Ulaanbaatar Marathon-2019’ will be held tomorrow (18 May) coinciding with Car Free Day. Every year, famous Mongolian individuals participate in the marathon for promoting healthy lifestyles and sports to the public. This year, Rio-Olympic silver medalist boxer D.Otgondalai will run in the 10 kilometer marathon.

Organized by the Governor’s Office of the Capital city and Physical Culture and Sports Department of Ulaanbaatar, the race is traditionally divided into professional and amateur parts. Registrations are now available at http://ub-marathon.ub.gov.mn. The is cost USD 5-25 for foreign citizens.

Among professional runners, semi (21095 meters) and full (42195 meters) professional marathons will be organized. Runners who take first ten places will be rewarded between MNT 800,000 and MNT10 million.

Last year, more than 400 runners of 30 countries including Japan, the USA, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, China, Kenya and others participated in the marathon.
