‘Baikal Open’ international freestyle wrestling competition will be held in Ulan-Ude on 17-19 May. Until this year, the competition has been held under the name of the ‘Buryat  President’s Cup’. A large Mongolian team consisting of over 100 people is participating in the competition which offers RUB 90 thousand for winning gold. Cash awards are as following: RUB 60 thousand for silver and RUB 40 thousand for bronze as well as RUB 40 thousand for the coach whose athlete wins gold.

Over 200 athletes from 13 countries including Russia, Mongolia, the Dominican Republic, South Korea, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, China and Azerbaijan have registered to participate in the competition.
