Earlier today (15 May) The Geothe-Institut Mongolia has celebrated its 10th anniversary with reception at German Embassy in Ulaanbaatar. As a part of celebrations, the Mongolian State Conservatory and the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich exchanged a cooperation agreement.
In his anniversary address, delivered to 10 guests from cultural, education and political sectors; the German Ambassador Stefan Duppel acknowledged the work of the Geothe-Institut Mongolia: ‘For 100 years, culture and education have been important pillars of the relation between Mongolia and Germany. And for 10 years, the Geothe-Institut Mongolia has played a crucial role in this.’
The Geothe Musiklabor Ulaanbaatar (GMUB), established in 2014 by the Geothe-Institut to support up-and-coming jazz musicians in Mongolia. Meanwhile, five GMUB graduates are now studying jazz in Munich University.
