The Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports in cooperation with the Mongolian National Broadcasting have organized the national robot championship contest. A total of 16 teams from 17 schools have competed for this contest with their own creations of remotely controlled and with four-legged automatic robots.

‘NewRobo’ team from New Mongol College of Technology and ‘NomaTech’ team from New Mongol Institute of Technology were the two champions of this contest; their success earned them the right to participate in the upcoming “ABU ROBOCON 2019 ULAANBAATAR” international contest. As the host country for the upcoming international contest, Mongolia is eligible to select two national teams to participate, subsequently, the two top teams were selected.

Robocon contest was first held in Japan in 1991 between local universities. Since then, the contest has grown into an international robotic contest.
