The government has decided to establish a museum for Ts.Dondogdulam, the last queen of Mongolia and wife of the Bogd Khan. The museum will be established near her mausoleum which is located in Sharga Morit, in the outskirts of Ulaanbaatar.
The mausoleum covers a total of 12 hectares area and was registered as a national cultural heritage site in 2015.
Ts.Dondogdulam Tsend was born on 15 November, 1876 in Khentii, in northern Mongolia. She first met the Bogd Khan in 1895 during his visit to the Erdene Zuu Monastery. In 1902 they were married and had a son. According to custom she adopted and raised many children from families that could not care for them. Dondogdulam died in 1923 one year before the death of her spouse. The day of her passing is observed on the 15th day of the last month of autumn.
