The Mongolian government has exempted UAE citizens from requiring pre-entry visas from 15 May. The decision will cover Emirati citizens carrying all types of passports who are travelling to Mongolia, and grant them a maximum stay of 30 days upon their entry.
The decision reflects the strengthening relations between the two countries, and will promote tourism and creating new business, trade and investment opportunities.
Under its Sustainable Tourism Project, Mongolia aims attract a million tourists in the next few years. Mongolia currently receives over 500 thousand tourists annually. According to official sources, tourism will contribute 14 per cent to GDP by 2020; currently, the figure is 5.3 percent.
