A 76-year-old Mongolian wrestler has received a PhD for academic research. Last week, Grand Champion Kh.Bayanmunkh defended his doctoral thesis on the subject of ‘Research & Findings Regarding Traditional Mongolian Wrestling Tricks’.
Kh.Bayanmunkh, who turned 76 in February, is the second most successful wrestler in the history of Mongolian wrestling with 10 championship wins at the Naadam Festival.
At the 1972 Summer Olympics he also won silver in the men’s freestyle heavyweight category.
