Mongolian schoolgirl wins gold at Asian Chess Championships

A 12-year-old Mongolian girl has won a gold medal at the 2019 Asian Chess Championship. The event was held in Kalutara, a resort town in Sri-Lanka on 1-10 April. In total, there were six age groups: under-8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 for boys and girls.

Ts.Anudari became champion with seven wins and two ties in the 12 year-old girls’ category. A total of 55 athletes from 12 countries competed in her age category.

In the boys’ category, 12-year-old L.Ochirbat won silver with four wins and five ties. He competed with 57 chess players in his age category.

Over 300 athletes from 22 Asian countries participated in the championships.
