Mongolian Parliamentary Speaker invited to visit North Korea

Mongolian Parliamentary Speaker G.Zandanshatar held a meeting with the North Korean Ambassador to Mongolia O Sung Ho in Ulaanbaatar on Tuesday. During their discussions, Mr. Zandanshatar said that Mongolia is keen to strengthen parliamentary cooperation with the North Korea.

In an effort to expand parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, he made a proposal on co-organising a joint parliamentary session for north-east Asian countries in Ulaanbaatar, at any time under the theme of promoting regional peace and stability by pushing forward towards the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

For his part, the ambassador said that “North Korea attaches great importance to two countries’ relations. A further expansion of friendly relations and cooperation between our two countries is a foreign-policy priority for the North Korea.” He delivered an invitation to the Mongolian Speaker to visit North Korea.

Mongolia was the second country after the USSR to recognize the independence of North Korea. The two countries established diplomatic ties in 1948.
