The Mongolian cabinet approved a resolution on Tuesday to dismiss all civil servants, especially high government official and directors of state- owned enterprises from their jobs if they are caught gambling in foreign casinos. Gambling is to be officially considered as an impropriety.
According to Head of the Cabinet Secretariat L.Oyun-Erdene, many Mongolian civil servants gamble in South Korean casinos. The Mongolian Government has been increasing monthly salary of civil servants systematically; however, their pay is still lower than that of unskilled manual labourers in South Korea.
What does not appear to have been discussed is how the casino ban will be actually implemented?
