Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan met with Mongolian Foreign Minister D.Tsogtbaatar in Beijing on Monday, saying China hopes for the continuous development of the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership. The Mongolian Foreign Minister is making an official visit to China from 31 March to 2 April.
Mr. Wang Qishan said the two countries should work together in implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state, maintaining the momentum of high-level exchanges, jointly pushing China’s Belt and Road Initiative, deepening cooperation in various sectors and enhancing cultural and people-to-people exchange.
Mongolia was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China, which was founded in 1949. The Chinese Vice President said friendship and cooperation had remained at the heart of bilateral ties over the past 70 years.
China’s rapid development and the Belt and Road Initiative bring important opportunities to Mongolia, D.Tsogtbaatar said, adding that his country is willing to raise bilateral ties to yet higher levels.
