A welcoming ceremony for visiting Finnish President Tarja Halonen and her husband Pentti Arajдrvi was held at Sukhbaatar Square today. With honor guards present, the attendees included President Ts. Elbegdorj, First Lady Kh. Bolormaa, Foreign Affairs Minister G. Zandanshatar, and other dignitaries. After the ceremony, the Finnish president was to visit the Chinggis Khaan memorial at the Tsonjin boldog site. Speaker D. Demberel also met with Ms. Halonen to discuss issues of diplomatic relations and possible partnerships between the two nations. Ms. Halonen’s state visit concludes on Thursday.
