The grandmother and brother of a soldier who died while on national service have begun a vigil in from of the Ministry of Defence. The relatives of the B.Altangerel are demanding answers; they believe that he died at his army barracks under suspicious circumstances. The sit-down vigil began yesterday, 18 March. Our News Agency interviewed D.Altangerel, the grandmother of the deceased soldier.

According to D.Altangerel, she received a call about the death of her grandson B.Altantulga at 6.00 p.m. on 22 January 2019. When they arrived at the barracks of army unit 336^th which is located in Zuunbayan soum of the Dornogobi province, forensics had already prepared the analysis of soldier’s death: it said that the young soldier’s death had not directly been caused by external forces. A second analysis stated that B.Altantulga had died of an illness. However, according to his grandmother there were many traces of external wounds on the body. As a result, the family do not believe the analyses. What were the real circumstances of B.Altantulga’s death?

A month ago, the family presented their demands for the truth to Mongolian Minister of Defence N.Enkhbold; so far he has not replied. Out of desperation, D.Altangerel and her other grandson began their sit-down protest .
