Melody Uyanga Ramsay will unveil her new collection at the Glasgow School of Art (GSA) Fashion Show next week, alongside new designs by textile and fashion design students in their third year at the school.
The Scottish-Mongolian will travel to New York in June to take up the internship after being offered a placement in Ralph Lauren’s concept design department for womenswear.
More than 2000 design students from across the globe applied for the four internships offered by Ralph Lauren this year, and Ramsay will be the second person ever to have been offered one in this key department for the brand.
The paid role will see her working for ten weeks with Ralph Lauren’s senior concept designer Tess Sullivan, before returning to complete her undergraduate studies at the GSA.
