Mongolia has sent 16 student athletes to the 29th Winter University Games in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk. The Mongolian team has competed in the five sports, namely ski orienteering, figure skating, short track speed skating, cross-country skiing and freestyle skiing during the Winter Universiade, which takes place from March 2-12. Over 3000 athletes from 58 countries competed in the 11 sports categories.
21 years-old G.Maral-Erdene from Mongolia has competed in the figure skating for first time at the Winter Universiade. She was listed in 30th place with 24.5 points. G.Maral-Erdene studies at the Sports Science Institute of Chukyo University in Japan. She has been living in Japan since she was 5 years-old.
Previously, G.Maral-Erdene competed in Asian Winter Games in 2013.
