Minister of Energy of Mongolia Ts.Davaasuren has made a working visit to the Czech Republic at the invitation of Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Marta Novakova.

During the visit, Mr. Davaasuren held an official meeting with Ms. Marta Novakova, at which the parties expressed their  interest in developing bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, especially in the field of renewable energy. Of particular interest is constructing a hydropower plant; views were also exchanged on power generation and , increasing the capacity of energy grid. A programme for conducting joint research is being planned.

Energy Minister Davaasuren also held a meeting with Senator Mr. Jaroslav Doubrava and exchanged views on cooperation opportunities of energy sector.

Mongolian delegation headed by Mr. Davaasuren visited ‘ZPA Smart Energy’ Company which is already implementing smart electricity meters and modern metering system at ‘Ulaanbaatar Electricity Distribution Network’ Company. At ZPA the sides shared views on further cooperation in reducing energy loss and strengthening reliable network operation.

As a part of the visit, the delegation was shown the Les Kralovstvi hydropower plant on the River Elba in operation.
