Earlier today (5 March) Mongolian Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh received H.E.Philippe Merlin, French Ambassador to Ulaanbaatar. At the meeting, the prime minister noted that he has been working on creating a joint road map for raising cooperation between the two countries to the level of a comprehensive partnership. Furthermore, the Mr Khurelsukh reminded the ambassador that his invitation to the French PM to visit Mongolia was still open.
Prime Minister Khurelsukh also asked Ambassador Merlin for French support to Mongolian businesses in better understanding and implementing the EU’s GSP+ (Generalised Scheme of Preferences – an EU policy allowing developing countries to pay fewer or no duties on exports to the EU, giving them vital access to the EU market and, threby, contributing to their growth).
In return, the French ambassador expressed his satisfaction with the state of cooperation between the two countries; there has been a successful development of investment activity as result of government policy.
