The oldest political party in Mongolia will celebrate its 99th anniversary of its foundation on 1 March. Mongolian People’s Party was founded in 1920, and went on to play an important role in the Mongolian Revolution of 1921. Following independence, it governed one-party Communist Mongolia until 1990 when the country chose a democratic and free-market future.
The party named its foundation day as Nationalists’ Day. On this day, a competition of 256 traditional wrestlers will be held. The competition has being held since 2005.
