Valentine’s Day in Mongolia – some interesting facts

Today (14 February) is the special day for couples around the world. To mark Valentine’s Day, the National Statistic Office has released some interesting facts. As of 14 February, 2019, there are three people who have been named Valentine in Mongolia. A total of 3180 people were born on 14 February; most of them are named Khosbayar (meaning double celebration).

Originating as a Western Christian feast day honouring two early saints named Valentinus, Valentine’s Day is now recognized as a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and romantic love in many regions around the world. Despite its huge global importance, the day is not a public holiday in any country.
