In a statement issued on Thursday by Alexander Gordeyev, who is the spokesman for Russia’s Eastern Military District, a joint Russian-Mongolian military exercises named “Selenge-2019” will be held in the second half of 2019.
“The first conference on preparing for the joint Russian-Mongolian military exercise ‘Selenge-2019’ just finished in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar. At this conference, representatives of the Eastern Military District and Mongolian Armed Forces have agreed on the idea of the joint exercises, the order of practical actions, as well as organizing catering, services, and medical assistance for Russian units on the territory of Mongolia,” Gordeyev said.
“Several units from the general army of the Eastern Military District stationed in the Buryatia Region will participate in the exercises. The ‘Selenge’ joint exercises are planned to be held in the second half of 2019,” he added.
The “Selenge” joint military exercises have been held annually since 2008.
