Mongolia has been building the Mongolia-Japan Teaching Hospital with assistance from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) who signed an agreement with the Mongolian government in 2015 to provide grant aid of up to 7.985 billion yen for the project.
The project is to construct a Teaching Hospital affiliated with the National University of Medical Sciences, which is in the capital of Ulaanbaatar, with the goal of improving post-graduate training and the quality of medical services for health care professionals. This will be the first Teaching Hospital in Mongolia to be associated with a university.
Currently, Mongolia has purchased all the necessary equipment for the Teaching Hospital. Construction is expected to be complete in March while ongoing funding from JICA will continue until 2022.
