Mongolian racers IM U.Byambatsogt and U.Byambadelger came in 32nd place in the SxS category with overall scores, however they retained their 3rd place in UTV Open class category. The final, or 10th stage, was conducted with a 100 km race – shorter way than previous stages – but with the usual uneven surface. They have registered with the number 413.
The 2019 event comprises 10 stages with a rest day – all within Peru – starting and ending in the capital city, Lima. It began on 6 January and finished on 17 January. At least 70% of the stages consisted of sand and dunes, which in the history of the Dakar is unique. A total of 534 athletes from 40 countries with 334 machines participated in the rally.
Team Mongolia has been participating in the motorcycle category of Dakar Rally since 2013.
