Stationary and school uniform prices are rising just as the new school year begins. For example, notebooks normally costing MNT 100-110 each now cost MNT 130-150. Fiber-tip pens normally selling for MNT 1,500-3,000 each now sell for MNT 2,500-5,000.

Other price noted by our correspondent: ballpoint pens MNT 150-1,500 each; glue MNT 250-600; and school bags MNT 8,000-35,000. Of course, school uniforms are in high demand now, too. A uniform made by Batzuu Ltd. costs MNT 22,000-28,000, while one made by Amno Ltd. sells for MNT 35,000-65,000. Last year school uniforms cost MNT 20,000-55,000. Meanwhile, prices for all consumer products continue to rise.
