Earlier today (27 December), a crowd of almost 1000 people demonstrated on Sukhbaatar square, in the centre of Ulaanbaatar demanding the resignation of Parliamentary Speaker M.Enkhbold. The event was organized by the ‘Mongolians Unite’ movement and was attended by some members of parliament. The demonstration will be held every Thursdays until Speaker M.Enkhbold steps down.
MP T.Ayursaikhan said ‘air-pollution, traffic jams, poverty and inequality all started when M.Enkbold was Mayor of Ulaanbaatar. Another reason why the speaker must step down from the job, is that he was allegedly involved in the sale of government posts for MNT 60 billion.
MPs led by T.Ayursaikhan, L.Bold and J.Batzandan have established the Mongolians Unite’ movement for fighting against ‘MANAN (Fog) Power’. Mongolians consider MANAN as a broad phenomenon including large elements of both the ruling Mongolian People’s Party and the opposing Democratic Party.
