In September, Mongolian teachers, nurses and doctors held strikes several times demanding salary increases. The strike actions ended after the Mongolian Trade Union signed an agreement with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports. The Ministry approved a total of MNT 267 billion for increasing those salaries; however, it has been delayed pending a decision from the Finance Ministry. Furthermore, the expected bonuses for science workers have not been granted. So, on Thursday at a press conference, the Mongolian Trade Union warned that additional strike actions can be expected in 2019.
